Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Grinder to remove excess metal from manufactured parts to blueprint specifications. On-the-job training will be provided, with emphasis on safe operations and adherence to production guidelines.

Role requires working in a drug-free environment, English proficiency, and ability to lift/move parts up to 30 lbs with assistance. Overtime may be required to meet deadlines and production needs.

Qualifications

• Wear PPE in the work area at all times.
• Must operate in a drug-free workplace.
• English reading, writing, and verbal comprehension.
• Depth perception is important for discarding defects and finishing parts.
• Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
• Parts may weigh up to 30 lbs; heavier loads with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Remove flash and excess material to blueprint specifications and work orders.
• Inspect parts visually and by touch.
• Use surface-grinding tools to remove defects from parts.
• Maintain accurate part and work piece counts.
• Follow forging process and work order instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.
