Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. in Newington, NH, is seeking a Gage Calibration Technician I to support calibration of electrical, mechanical and electronic measuring instruments.

Responsibilities include setting up lab equipment, inspecting components, calibrating gages, maintaining calibration records, and assisting engineers in test plans; requires high school diploma and ability to read drawings and GD&T.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and minimum inspection experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances.
• Basic working knowledge of GD&T is required.
• Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to use calibration software such as Gage Trak.
• Must be able to create a schedule, gage files, and populate gage
• Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.

Responsibilities

• Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
• Disassemble gages and instruments and inspect components for defects.
• Measure parts for conformity with specifications.
• Reassemble and calibrate gages and instruments.
• Provide both efficient and accurate performance of routine mechanical gage calibrations including maintenance of calibration records.
• Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
• Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and strive to find solutions.
• Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance productivity.
