Job summary

Fortis Solutions Group is seeking a Press Operator for our Connecticut facility. This role involves operating a flexographic press, setting up plates, dies, inks, and coatings as specified, and performing quality checks to ensure product meets requirements.

You will log production data, assist with maintenance, and collaborate with supervision to resolve issues, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three years press operator or printing-related production experience preferred.
• Must be proactive and detail oriented to catch problems and communicate with supervision.
• Knowledge of press operation and basic troubleshooting expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform typical press operations to support production.
• Review job ticket and work with Press Helper to ensure proper setup (ink, dies, stock, plates).
• Run job setup and log data related to setup.
• Run job per specifications and log materials used.
• Inspect printed rolls for quality and color registration.
• Move finished rolls to finishing and clean machine after job completion.
• Communicate issues with labels and dies to Shift Supervisor/Production Manager.
• Ensure accurate data collection for each job and time variance notes.
• Perform basic troubleshooting with Press Helper and Supervisor.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and follow safety policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and any required training.
