Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Fabricator – Machine Operator in Harlan, Iowa to set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment to produce metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and accurate production records, with duties including operating press brakes, rollers, punches, and other machinery, reading parts drawings, and maintaining measurement accuracy. Welding is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1-2 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills including dimensions, quantities, metric conversions, algebra, and geometry.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, diligence, and time management skills.
• Welding experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes, rollers, punch presses, sanders, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and other fabrication machinery.
• Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gages, and height gages.
• Practice the highest degree of safety when performing essential duties of the position.
• Read and interpret parts drawings, process routings, and production requirement information.
