Motion Industries in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a second shift Fabricator to make, repair, and adapt dies and tooling with high precision. You will lay out and assemble components per blueprints and safety standards.

The role requires reading gauges and measuring pieces, operating brakes, shears, grinders, and drill presses, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. High school diploma or GED is typical requirement.

Qualifications

• Ability to lay out, position, align, and secure parts per blueprints.
• Read and verify work pieces against specifications.
• Operate fabrication machines safely and efficiently.
• Able to handle materials up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials and task sequences.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or assemble components.
• May weld components in various positions and tack-weld parts as needed.
• Keep work area clean and maintain safety practices.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Study drawings to plan materials and task sequences.
