Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Fabricator I in Kansas City, MO to produce metal and wood components using manual and automated equipment. You will read shop drawings, perform precision measurements, and assemble parts to exact tolerances.

Responsibilities include setting up tooling, maintaining equipment, packaging finished work for site delivery, and collaborating with project teams to meet schedules. A high school diploma and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
• 2+ years commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and may require non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of manual and automated equipment producing metal or wood components.
• Applies basic math to cutting parts to size and assembling components.
• Collects and assembles components to produce end products.
• Packages and loads materials for transport to project sites.
• Reads a tape measure accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe shop environment.
• Uses tablets and software to communicate daily tasks and report progress.
• Performs tooling changes and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Sets up jigs and fixtures for repeatable parts.
• Uses calipers and micrometers to check material and tooling to the thousandth of an inch.
• Reads shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
