Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Express Bender Operator to set up and run automated bending equipment at its Great Lakes facility. You will read engineering drawings, verify tolerances, and perform first-piece inspections to ensure quality.

You will load materials, install tooling, and adjust settings to meet production targets while maintaining safety and lean practices. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork across manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience using calipers, tape measures, squares, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Familiarity with quality inspections and documentation processes.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Express bending machines and related metal fabrication equipment.
• Review and interpret drawings, blueprints, work orders, BOMs and product specs.
• Load, position, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Select tooling and machine settings for assigned production work.
• Perform first-piece inspections and obtain approvals before production continues.
• Measure finished components with calipers and gauges to ensure tolerances.
• Monitor performance and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Document production records and quality data accurately.
• Follow 5S and lean practices to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
