Job summary

Dakota Holdings is seeking an Estimator to drive precise bidding and cost management for complex commercial structural steel and architectural millwork projects in Sunnyvale, TX. You will analyze drawings, perform room-by-room take-offs, build bid packages, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure competitive, accurate pricing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of estimating or related project development experience.
• Ability to read and analyze architectural drawings, documents, and specs.
• Experience performing material take-offs and pricing calculations under deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication for negotiations with subs and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, and contract docs to perform room-by-room take-offs.
• Build bid packages and cost estimates using labor hours, materials, and buyout pricing.
• Coordinate with subs and vendors to solicit and evaluate quotes.
• Define scope exclusions and assumptions in formal proposals.
• Collaborate with drafting, purchasing, and shop ops to validate pricing and fabrication methods.
• Monitor market pricing for steel and millwork to keep models accurate.
• Price addendums and scope changes while meeting bid deadlines.
