Job summary

Wabtec Corporation invites qualified candidates for an Assembly Technician role on the Kansas City production line. You will perform precise assembly and disassembly tasks using hand and power tools, following detailed instructions and blueprints to rebuild components to specification.

The position emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to SOPs and JSAs within a fast-paced production environment. On-site work with opportunities for overtime may be available; 5S discipline is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of basic mechanics and use of hand tools.
• Ability to interpret simple prints and assembly instructions.
• 1+ year of mechanical assembly/disassembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed disassembly and assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
• Disassemble and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Clean and buff components.
• Wash components in solvent and run parts through parts washer.
• Keep a clean, safe workplace following 5S.
• Ensure schedules run as listed and operate under SOPs/JSAs.
• Turn off equipment when not in use; maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist other workstations as needed and be willing to cross-train.
