Job summary

Stellant Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking an Electrical Receiving Inspector to perform receiving, in-line and final inspection of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies.

You will verify components, document findings, and ensure traceability through the build cycle in a fast-paced environment. The role requires reading blueprints, using microscopes and precision tools, and ensuring compliance with IPC standards and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in quality/workmanship inspections of electronic/mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with IPC J-STD-001 and ESD handling controls; solder inspection of PCBs.
• Use inspection tools: microscopes, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, scales.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing instructions for hardware compliance.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds and handle physical tasks safely.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and databases.
• Familiar with comparator and CMM is a plus; participate in training and certifications.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspection of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Conduct visual inspection, solder joint evaluation, and feature verification using microscopes.
• Verify SMT and through-hole components and mechanical hardware on subassemblies and finished products.
• Use precision measuring instruments to validate dimensional requirements.
• Ensure work per drawings, routings, and manufacturing instructions.
• Review documentation: travelers, routers, work instructions, BOMs, inspection checklists.
• Maintain traceability throughout the build cycle and audit readiness of records.
• Identify and classify nonconformances; generate NCRs in ERP/QC with evidence.
• Segregate discrepant material; support MRB reviews and root-cause actions.
• Communicate defects/trends to Quality Eng, Production, and Process Eng for corrective actions.
• Verify special processes (soldering, staking, bonding, torquing, cleaning) by qualified personnel.
• Ensure inspection points and quality holds are completed in sequence and documented.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free inspection area.
