Job summary

GTA Containers, Inc. in Indiana seeks a System Assembler to build, inspect, test, and package mechanical and electromechanical systems for defense applications. You will follow engineering drawings and work instructions to produce reliable assemblies, maintain records, and meet production schedules.

Safety, workmanship, and quality are essential. Expect to use hand and power tools, perform basic wiring tasks, conduct tests, verify parts, and ensure traceability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of assembly experience.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Able to use hand and power tools safely and accurately.
• Basic math and measurement skills; record results clearly.
• Communicate status and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components using tools and fixtures.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams and instructions.
• Verify part numbers, quantities and revisions before starting work.
• Fit, align, fasten, and torque components to spec dimensions.
• Perform basic wiring tasks: cutting, stripping, crimping, routing, terminating.
• Conduct pressure, water, leak, and functional testing; record results.
• Inspect workmanship and notify supervisor of defects; rework as authorized.
• Prepare kits, labels, and packaging for builds and shipment; ensure traceability.
• Maintain records and comply with 6S, safety, and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality to improve processes.
