Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (CA) is seeking a Production Assembler I to assemble mechanical units and subassemblies using hand and power tools, aligning and calibrating parts to meet tolerances.

The role requires following established procedures, working on-site in San Diego, and maintaining accurate production records while ensuring quality standards are met. Training provided for capable individuals with HS diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 0–3 years or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours.
• Preferred vocational/technical training.
• Knowledge of assembly, calibration, soldering, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble units per specifications using hand/power tools.
• Align and adjust fabricated parts to tolerances.
• Test and calibrate components to meet specs.
• Repair or refit parts that fail tests.
• Maintain daily production records.
• Keep a clean, organized work area.
