Job summary

HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a production assembler to build electromechanical sub-assemblies to finished units from drawings and travelers. The role requires soldering under a microscope, reading engineering drawings, and performing troubleshooting with good dexterity and communication.

You will operate shop equipment, participate in cross-training, and contribute to a high-precision manufacturing environment within an international team.

Qualifications

• Reading and understanding engineering assembly drawings.
• Advanced schematic reading and ability to troubleshoot assemblies.
• Good mechanical aptitude and fine hand-eye dexterity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• J-STD C or IPC-610 certification.
• Must be a local candidate.

Responsibilities

• Performs electromechanical assemblies in the form of sub-assemblies and final assembly product under a microscope.
• Assemble ultra-miniature assemblies or be fully proficient in a specific product line.
• Operates standard shop equipment including soldering iron, microscope, ultrasonic cleaner, and furnaces.
• Reworks malfunctioning units.
• Communicates with the calibration department to ensure accurate assembly and proper operation of the units.
• Conducts ongoing cross-training to increase skills and knowledge.
• Welds miniature parts under a microscope for extended periods during the work shift.
• Flexible and capable of processing more complex assemblies with minimal oversight.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
