Job summary

HBK Hottinger Brüel & Kjær in California is seeking a production assembler to build from sub-assemblies to finished units per drawings and procedures. You will use a microscope for ultra-miniature assemblies, operate soldering irons, ultrasonic cleaners, and furnaces, and rework faulty units to ensure proper operation.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, strong hand-eye dexterity, and J-STD C or IPC-610 certification, with 3–5 years of relevant experience. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, soldering under a microscope.
  • Must read and understand engineering assembly drawings.
  • Advanced schematic reading and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Certified for J-STD C or IPC-610.
  • Local candidate required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical sub-assemblies and final units per drawings and procedures.
  • Operate shop equipment including soldering iron, microscope, ultrasonic cleaner, furnaces.
  • Weld miniature parts under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Rework malfunctioning units and communicate with calibration to ensure proper operation.
  • Cross-train to increase skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
