Job summary

Sterling Technologies Inc in Wixom, MI, is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and PCB assemblies per drawings and customer specs. You will handle SMT and thru-hole PCB work, perform inspections, and help drive quality through effective testing and documentation.

The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years in electrical assembly, wire harness or cable assembly production.
Experience with SMT and/or through-hole PCB assembly and hand soldering.
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
Experience using hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, and testing devices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assemble custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical boxes/panels, and subassemblies per blueprints and BOMs.
Cut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires and cables.
Install connectors, terminals, heat shrink tubing, labels, and protective sleeving.
Troubleshoot and repair wiring and assembly issues using electrical schematics.
Perform SMT and through-hole PCB placement, hand soldering, and touch-ups.
Operate pick-and-place, reflow oven, wave solder, or selective solder equipment as applicable.
Read PCB assembly drawings and BOMs; inspect for solder quality and defects.
Maintain production and quality records; identify and report issues.
