Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is seeking an on-site inspector in Portland, OR, within the Structurals division. The role focuses on visual and dimensional inspection of castings, ensuring compliance to specifications and target rework levels.

You will support engineering, maintain quality records, and participate in safety programs. The candidate will use precision tools, read blueprints and tech cards, and work with teams across departments to ensure dimensional integrity and process

Qualifications

Visual and dimensional inspection skills demonstrated by classroom training and/or work experience.
Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on tech cards and other technical material, to write and to perform arithmetic calculations.
Ability to perform dimensional inspection applying proper techniques.
Ability to read precision hand tools.
20/30 correctable vision and color vision as part of safety checks.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect castings to identify surface defects.
Dimensional measurement to ensure conformance to blueprints and tech cards using templates, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, ultrasound and other devices.
Support engineering by documenting dimensional data and reporting non-conformances; assist in evaluating inspection techniques.
Adhere to safety rules and operate equipment safely; maintain logs and records.
Provide training and work direction to others as directed; perform additional tasks as assigned.
