Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Dimension Control Technician to join the Tooling department. The role involves laying out, fabricating, and assembling tooling with precise tolerances, and using optical instruments to verify alignment and fit.

The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work across shifts in a fast-paced team, and the capability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance and SAP access. Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience preferred.
• Experience devising reference systems and creating working build models.
• Ability to move objects up to 35 pounds and work in varied environments.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance and SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and nonstandard tooling with tight tolerances.
• Set up and operate optical instruments to check alignment of assemblies.
• Develop and design holding devices and jig details.
• Prepare shop drawings and sequences for fabrication and assembly.
• Monitor quality using statistical process controls when required.
