Job summary

Sealing Devices Inc. is seeking a skilled die maker to build, sharpen, and repair steel rule cutting dies per customer specifications. The role also involves designing prototype dies for manufacturing seals and gaskets.

You will review drawings, use CAD to develop tooling blueprints, select appropriate materials, and verify layouts before fabrication. Strong precision skills and teamwork are essential for delivering high-quality tooling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with CAD software and blueprint interpretation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Able to troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings to determine manufacturability in-house or outsourcing.
• Use CAD to create tooling designs and production-ready blueprints.
• Select die board materials, steel rule, punches, and tooling components based on project needs.
• Verify and inspect design layouts before fabrication.
• Inspect tools and dies for defects and quality impact.
• Coordinate with Quality Control to verify tolerances and specs.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications to dies and tooling.
• Report quality concerns or tooling discrepancies to supervision.
• Follow procedures and quality standards; seek continuous improvement.
• Assist with additional fabrication duties as assigned.
