Job summary

Lisi Medical Jedopa Inc is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to analyze specifications and machine tool and parts to fabricate dies from raw steel stock. The position also involves repairing existing dies and ensuring they meet exact specifications.

You will verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, select suitable metals, and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Safety and clean work areas are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of dies fabrication experience.
• Experience with a broad range of materials including tool steel, Teflon, aluminum, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Strong measurement and dimensional control skills (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform precision machining tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts to specifications using measuring instruments.
• Set up and operate conventional machine tools to cut, bore, grind, or shape parts to described dimensions.
• Study blueprints and specifications to plan sequences of operations for tooling.
• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, finish, contour conformity, and defects.
• Machine and assemble progressive and multi-slide dies.
• Conduct test runs to ensure production parts meet specifications.
• Follow safety guidelines and keep work area organized.
