AJ Rose Manufacturing in Avon, OH is seeking a Die Maker to study blueprints and prototypes, machine die components, assemble dies, and ensure functionality through precise adjustments and inspections.

You will apply machining techniques, shop mathematics, and an understanding of sheet metal properties to verify dimensions, set up tools, operate lathes, mills, and grinders, and inspect parts for ISIR readiness.

Qualifications

Proficiency in blueprint reading.
Knowledge of tool room equipment.
Machining skills, including ID-OD grinding to close tolerances.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Strong foundation in shop math (geometry, algebra, and trig).
Engineering problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of GD&T.
Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards.
Understanding of materials and mechanical drafting.
Experience in tooling design.

Responsibilities

Study blueprints of products and dies, prototypes, and die models.
Plan operations using shop mathematics, machining, and assembly methods.
Measure, mark, and scribe tools and stock for machining.
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to machine parts to spec.
Verify machined parts against specifications for accuracy.
Lift machined parts manually or using a hoist and position them on worktables for assembly.
Shape, smooth, and fit flat and contoured surfaces of die members and parts using hand tools.
Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignment with dial indicators, gage blocks, and micrometers.
Dowel and bolt parts together using hand tools.
Operate power presses, perform final adjustments and ISIR-related checks, and work efficiently.
