Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Cutoff Operator to operate band saw, abrasive saw, grinders and hand tools in removing projections from sand castings. You will read work instructions, set up equipment, and maintain a safe, clean production area.

The role requires English reading/writing, a High School diploma or GED, and 6+ months of manufacturing experience. Pay starts at $20/hr with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months experience in a manufacturing environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate band saw, abrasive saw, sand grinder, belt grinder and portable pneumatic grinding tools.
• Use a variety of hand tools including hammers, cold chisels and files.
• May operate and/or load the blast cleaning machine.
• Report production quantities and items for each work order.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Train others in machine operator tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work for defects before passing to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
