Job summary

Layup Parts is seeking a Composites Technician (De-Tooling) to safely remove cured composite parts from molds and tooling while protecting the finished component and tooling. You will help maintain production flow, ensure part quality, and support related composite manufacturing operations on the production floor.

The role requires experience in composites manufacturing or similar hands-on settings, plus proficiency with hand and pneumatic tools.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in composites manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, automotive, fabrication, machining, or another hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Experience with composite molds, tooling, or de-tooling.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and pneumatic tools.
• Ability to follow detailed written work instructions and established manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform de-tooling of cured composite parts from molds, tools, mandrels, and fixtures using approved work instructions and techniques.
• Safely separate parts from tooling while minimizing risk of damage to the part, mold, or tooling.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, wedges, lifting equipment, and other approved de-tooling equipment.
• Identify release points and sequences based on part and tool configuration.
• Inspect parts and tooling for defects during/after de-tooling; address issues promptly.
• Clean tooling after part removal and prepare tools for subsequent operations.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and positioning molds, tools, and components using material-handling equipment.
