Job summary

Engtal seeks a skilled Slitting Operator for our Gary facility to set up and run slitting equipment, ensuring cuts meet exact widths and tolerances. You will monitor line conditions, read blueprints, adjust tooling, and maintain high quality.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspect outputs against specifications, keep the workstation clean and safe, and record production metrics while coordinating with teammates to boost throughput; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience operating a slitter or similar production machinery preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run slitting equipment to cut materials to exact dimensions and tolerances.
• Continuously monitor line conditions and make adjustments to uphold quality.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on the slitter.
• Inspect output to confirm accuracy and conformance with specifications.
• Keep the workstation orderly and follow all safety procedures.
• Coordinate with team members to improve throughput and workflow efficiency.
• Accurately record production metrics and promptly escalate issues to supervision.
