Job summary

Star Precision, LP in Houston, TX is seeking a CNC Machinist to own the setup, programming, and operation of CNC turning centers to deliver precision parts on time and to spec.

You will read blueprints, validate offsets, monitor tool wear, adjust feeds and speeds, and ensure a safe, organized, and compliant cell. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently or with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience reading/understanding technical drawings and engineering prints.
• Solid understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning equipment to manufacture parts to specification.
• Utilize live tooling for mill/turn operations and cross-functional features.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to plan setups.
• Monitor machine performance for quality, accuracy, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery.
• Collaborate with teammates to optimize programs, tooling and production flow.
• Maintain a clean, compliant, and safe work environment.
• Accurately document production data and report discrepancies.
