Job summary

O.C. Tanner Company in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to create stamping and coining dies from raw stock and to produce tooling for our production lines.

Responsibilities include operating CNC mills, EDM wire, heat treat, grinders, and ensuring accurate tool setup with precise measuring using calipers and indicators. The role emphasizes safety, lean practices, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using decimals and fractions.
• Knowledge of the machine coordinate system X, Y, and Z.
• Use and calibration of measuring equipment: calipers and indicators.
• Tool grinding: Grind engraving tools for dies.
• Operate CNC controls: Centroid, Mach Motion, Fanuc.
• Download programs and manage offsets and setup.
• Adhere to machine safety and maintenance policies.
• Proficient with Excel and Word for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills, heat treat, tool grinders, and surface grinders.
• Support lean/continuous improvement initiatives and daily huddles.
• Perform part setup, offsets, and program downloading on CNC controls.
• Ensure machine safety, startup, shutdown, and autonomous maintenance.
