Contract Industrial Tooling (CIT) in Richmond, IN is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to program, set up, and run mills and lathes. You will plan strategies directly from work orders and drawings, program zero points, offsets, and tool conditions, and verify accuracy with math and geometry.

You will load stock, monitor cuts, and make real-time adjustments, documenting results and contributing to preventive maintenance. Shift options include first and second, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of machine shop experience.
• Background in metal fabrication and tooling.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Self-directed with ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Detail oriented with speed and accuracy under tight timelines.
• Ability to read drawings and work orders from engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and run CNC mills and lathes to spec.
• Plan machining strategies from work orders and drawings.
• Program zero and reference points, tool offsets, and compensation.
• Install chucks, collets, and vises; indicate and tram heads.
• Load stock, monitor cuts, and adjust programs to stay in spec.
• Document production and quality results; perform preventive maintenance.
