Job summary

Talent Search PRO in Syracuse, NY is seeking a qualified NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operate – 1st Shift. Core hours are 6:30am-2:30pm with an hourly rate of $25.89. The role involves setting up and operating a range of machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of NC/CNC setup and operation experience. Candidates within 50 miles of Syracuse will be considered. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in NC/CNC setup and operation.
• No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
• No immigration sponsorship or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT/H-1B support offered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide variety of NC/CNC setups and machining operations on all listed machine shop equipment.
• Select tools, feeds and speeds according to material and finish requirements.
• Square up and layout production runs or special castings for machining with close tolerances.
• Work with metals such as steel, iron, brass, bronze and aluminum.
• Layout, machine, fit and assemble jigs and fixtures to facilitate own work.
• Determine operation sequences and calculations for dividing heads, angles, tapers, fits and assembly.
• Check parts for finish, material defects or incorrect operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area following 5S processes.
