Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Precision CNC Programmer-Operator to set up and run CNC lathes and 3- to 4-axis VMCs for aerospace and high-precision parts. You will read blueprints, verify tolerances, and optimize runs to ensure first-article success and consistent quality.

Ideal candidates have CNC experience on lathes and mills, familiarity with G-Code, and a strong measurement discipline. Join a collaborative shop building flight-worthy components and other precision parts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; machining certificate or related technical training preferred.
  • Demonstrated CNC machinist experience on lathes and/or mills.
  • Experience with Mazak controls is a plus but not required.
  • Thorough understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Comfortable reading and applying technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to deliver parts exactly to print and specification.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues so machines stay production-ready.
  • Track process performance; refine tooling, offsets, and parameters to sustain quality and throughput.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical docs to define sequences and workholding.
  • Verify results with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate across the team to boost efficiency and reduce scrap and rework.
