Job summary

Airlite Plastics in Oxnard, CA is seeking a CNC Operator to join our Canopy division. You will operate CNC machines to fabricate parts, interpret blueprints, set up tooling, and ensure parts meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include planning machining steps, loading material, verifying settings, and maintaining records. The role requires strong math skills, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of machining experience including CNC and manual machines.
• Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts.
• Knowledge of and ability to use basic hand tools.
• Capability to utilize problem solving skills.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals.
• Must be able to work well with others and support team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be self-motivated and positive.
• Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and orthographic drawings.
• Plan machining processes to meet project specifications.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement.
• Enter instructions into CNC machines for milling and lathing operations.
• Install and adjust machine components like chucks, tools, and attachments.
• Safely load materials and oversee the machining process.
• Verify machine settings by measuring parts and samples.
• Maintain documentation of operations, quality checks, and safety logs.
• Follow safety protocols and company standards.
• Stay current with machining techniques and participate in training.
• Attend to overtime work as required.
