Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Cincinnati, OH to develop and optimize CNC machining plans for complex, regulated products. You will translate customer specs into robust routings and time standards, drive shop-floor improvements, and collaborate across engineering, tooling, materials, and quality teams.

The role requires hands-on CNC experience, CAD/CAM proficiency (NX or Mastercam), and a track record in process development and continuous improvement within aerospace or power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in heavy industrial fabrication or CNC machining.
• Experience with regulated markets such as aerospace, automotive, or power generation.
• Proficiency in developing and reviewing routings and multi-level operation sequences.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and tooling dimensions.
• Experience establishing time standards, time studies, and performance measurement.
• CAD/CAM design experience with NX or Mastercam; open to other software.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specs and quotation data into manufacturing plans and routings.
• Develop and review routings, verify operation sequences, and tooling references.
• Establish and maintain time standards aligned with cost relationships and selling price.
• Review drawings for completeness, assess metric-to-English conversions, and determine redraw needs.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve technical issues and align on requirements.
• Review and sign off on prints and operation sheets to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Ensure Quality Planning reviews manufacturing plans before release.
• Update processes and routings in response to engineering changes.
• Coordinate with Materials, Engineering, Tooling, and Programming for efficient production.
• Provide shop floor support, troubleshoot tool errors, and assist setups and prove-outs.
