Job summary

Parallel Employment Group, in partnership with an aerospace manufacturer in Elma, NY, is seeking a skilled CNC/Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The Machinist will set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts that meet engineering specs and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to use precision measuring equipment, with CNC grinding experience highly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year related experience or training.
• One year of CNC machining experience or CNC certification preferred.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC grinding equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and math.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specs to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.
• Operate CNC grinding equipment and manage CNC programs.
• Upload and edit CNC programs to optimize cutting conditions.
• Monitor machine settings and tool offsets for quality.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Maintain production records and setup sheets.
• Troubleshoot issues with engineering and production teams.
• Train operators in CNC grinding procedures.
• Follow safety, quality standards, and manufacturing practices.
