Job summary

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. seeks a Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and NC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.

You will read blueprints, analyze work orders, and determine the most efficient sequence of operations. Responsibilities include following programming instructions, deburring, inspecting finished pieces, and maintaining quality conformance in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Safely operate and set-up machines and tools.
• Interpret G&M code.
• GD&T and blueprint reading knowledge.
• Machining methods including boring, milling, drilling, and threading.
• Familiar with CNC machine tool operating procedures.
• Set up, adjust and check out programming.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Interpret written, oral, or scheduled instructions.
• Read blueprints, specs, safety rules, and operating manuals.
• Calculate figures and formulas for the work area.
• Computer literate.
• Team player with good communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Analyze work orders, blueprints to determine process and operations.
• Operate numerically controlled machine tools.
• Follow programming instructions for tool arrangements and machine setup.
• Deburr parts.
• Set controls for speed, feed, coolant, and depth.
• Observe machines to detect malfunctions and verify finished work.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications.
• May run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Assist other personnel and operators as needed.
• Set up and run trial to verify accuracy.
• Communicate with engineers and programmers to resolve problems.
• Other duties as assigned.
