Job summary

Aerotek in Coral Gables, FL is hiring a CNC Machinist I to set up and operate CNC centers, producing precise milled parts from raw materials. You will read blueprints, verify with gauges, and document production steps in a fast-paced shop environment.

Under supervision, you will follow established procedures, maintain quality, and work with a team to meet daily production goals. The role offers onsite work with competitive pay and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a machining or CNC training program, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, setup documentation, and work instructions.
• Understanding of tooling, offsets, and workholding fundamentals.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and tolerances.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with colleagues.
• Basic English language skills for reading, writing, and communication in the shop environment.
• Experience with CNC machining in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up basic CNC machines, load programs, install tooling, and verify fixtures.
• Operate mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment to produce parts to spec.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely.
• Inspect with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure specs.
• Read blueprints and GD&T to guide operations.
• Document production and inspection records per procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
• Report tooling wear or machine issues promptly.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance.
