Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes in a Milwaukee, WI facility. You will perform full machine setups, load programs, and run short batches while maintaining tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include first piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges, reading blueprints, and following setup sheets to ensure quality. This is a contract-to-hire, onsite role with a weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting written work instructions.
• Ability to perform full machine setups including tool changes and touch-off.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and gauges for precise measurements.
• Experience running short production runs and small batches (≤30 pieces).
• Familiar with both CNC mills and CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components.
• Perform full machine setups, including tooling changes and touching off tools.
• Load programs from library and follow setup sheets for parts.
• Run short runs and multiple setups per day.
• Maintain tolerances typically .002–.005 inches, tighter to .0005 inches for bearings.
• Perform first piece and in-process inspections with gauges.
