Job summary

General Atomics is seeking skilled machinists of all levels for on-site roles in San Diego, CA. The position involves operating CNC lathes and mills, reading blueprints, verifying parts with precision metrology, and maintaining high quality standards within a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and precision measurement specifications.
• Familiarity with metrology equipment and statistical process control.
• Ability to perform kitting of production tools, fixtures and materials.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality in a precision machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates precision CNC lathes or mills and standard machining equipment.
• Cleans machines and work area; deburrs parts.
• Performs kitting of tools, fixtures, cutters and raw materials.
• Establishes tool positions, centerlines, and tool heights in machining equipment.
• Operates machines and inspects parts using blueprint dimensions and metrology equipment.
• Records data per established protocols; monitors quality per SPC or CST.
• Prepares and saw cuts raw materials; may layout, fabricate and assemble components.
