Job summary
Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM is seeking skilled machinists to provide fabrication support for precision parts used in national security missions. The role requires an AAS in Machining Technologies or equivalent, plus several years of experience; CAD/CAM proficiency and GD&T knowledge are highly valued.
Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating manual and CNC mills and lathes with tight tolerances.
- Skilled in applied shop mathematics and fixturing design and selection.
- Experience developing machining processes and tooling selections.
- Ability to perform precise measurements with calipers, micrometers, and verniers.
Responsibilities
- Machinists manufacture parts from complex drawings using mills, lathes, and wire EDM.
- Set up and operate equipment; follow CAD models and drawings.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers in classified and unclassified spaces.
