Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a CNC Operator to run and monitor CNC machines, ensuring parts meet inch and metric drawings. You’ll inspect finished components and may handle manual mills or lathes when required, while maintaining a clean workspace and performing basic preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a similar role, with CNC programming training and strong blueprint-reading skills. This position emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork within our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position preferred plus training in CNC Programming.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or CNC certification or CNC Trade School, a major plus.
• General understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications.
• Inspect machined components for accuracy against drawings.
• May operate manual mills, lathes, and additional equipment as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping and perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines.
