Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and manual equipment in accordance with inch and metric drawings. You will monitor parts for accuracy and may run secondary equipment as needed.

Hours are 5:45am - 2:15pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime available. A High School diploma or CNC certification is preferred; 1-2 years experience is noted. We offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, 401(k).

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing knowledge.
• Strong ownership and work ethic with good written and verbal communication.
• Proficient computer skills required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high quality standards.
• Ability to shift between tasks to address production priorities.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines per inch and metric drawings.
• Inspect machined parts for accuracy against drawings.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, and secondary equipment as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines.
• Adhere to company policies and ensure quality standards.
