Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a CNC operator to run CNC machines and inspect components to drawing specifications. The role may involve operating manual mills and lathes and performing routine maintenance.

You will work in a team with a strong focus on quality and safety, following company policies and procedures. Qualifications include 1–2 years in a similar role, a High School Diploma or CNC training, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar position with CNC programming.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNC certification or CNC Trade School training is a major plus.
• General understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills are a must; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong ability to shift between tasks to address changing production priorities.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawings.
• Inspect machined components for accuracy against drawings.
• May operate manual mills, lathes, and other secondary equipment.
• Maintain general housekeeping and perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines.
• Meet company standards for quantity and quality and adhere to policies and procedures.
