Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to set up and operate turning centers, read blueprints, and verify tolerances with precision tools. You will program with G and M codes, work with DNC systems, and ensure parts meet exact specifications.

Preferred 4+ years of CNC experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CNC certification. Evening shifts (3:45pm - 12:15am) include a shift differential and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of CNC experience with training in CNC programming.
High School diploma or equivalent; CNC certification a major plus.
Lean Principles knowledge and Setup Time Reduction a plus.
Ability to read blueprints and geometric tolerances.
Proficient computer skills and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

Performs setups on multi-tasking turning centers.
Experience with Okuma and Fanuc controls.
Reads blueprints and tolerances; verifies dimensions with measuring tools.
Operates and maintains DNC systems and measuring equipment.
Ensures on-time deliveries and adheres to safety and quality standards.
Performs routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
