Job summary

Preferred Utilities seeks a skilled CNC machinist to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling and turning equipment for precision parts. You will inspect parts with bench gauges and ensure conformance to prints, while following Standard Work and documenting results.

Safety and teamwork are essential as you perform light maintenance, maintain a clean workspace, and collaborate with co-workers to sustain quality and throughput. This is a full-time on-site role in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision parts.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and specs.
• Proficient use of bench gauges for inspection and measurement.
• Adherence to Standard Work and safety regulations.
• Capable of light preventative maintenance and documenting actions.

Responsibilities

Are you the go-to person when a machine needs a flawless setup?If dialing in a mill or lathe, proving out a program, and gauging parts to the print sounds like your element, you’ll fit right in.In this role, you will:Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components.Inspect completed work with bench gauging to confirm parts meet specifications.Follow Standard Work without compromise—covering setup/operation, process verification, inspection, documentation, and material handling.Carry out light preventative maintenance to keep equipment reliable and reduce unplanned downtime.Immediately report safety violations, equipment misusage, or improperly performed work to your supervisor, and contribute input that may guide corrective action, including discipline.Work as a strong team player who maintains positive relationships with co‑workers.Engage in all safety and hazardous material handling/disposal practices per regulations and company procedures.Maintain a clean, orderly work environment that meets internal compliance standards.Use PPE (shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.Complete testing and adjustments of parts, as needed, to achieve final requirements.Identify and replace parts when necessary to sustain quality and throughput.Handle other tasks as required to support production.You'll work with:CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) (Haas, Okuma)CAM SoftwareCNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)
