Job summary

Schafer Industries is seeking a Machinist in Blacklick, OH to set‑up and operate CNC lathes and mills, producing tight tolerance parts per customer specs. The role emphasizes safety, productivity improvements, and adherence to ISO/AS9100.

Qualifications

• Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions.
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Minimum four years of experience in set-ups and running of production.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machinery to fabricate parts to required specifications.
• Read work orders and specifications before starting the machine.
• Load and unload parts and ensure proper tooling for each machine.
• Change fixtures and other work holding devices; remove/install tools from tool magazines.
• Read blueprints and tolerances to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
• Ensure parts meet specifications and comply with ISO/AS9100 procedures.
• Support productivity improvements and maintain 6S in the area.
• Train new personnel and assist in other machine center areas as needed.

Education

Two-year certification from technical school
