Job summary

Legacy Staffing, in partnership with a leading Massillon manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Schutte Technician / Technical Lead for first shift. The role focuses on advanced multi-spindle machining, technical leadership, process optimization, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced production environment.

You will perform complete setups and changeovers, troubleshoot complex machining and tooling issues, optimize feeds and cycle times, read blueprints and GD&T, and support quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience setting up Schutte or similar multi-spindle screw machines.
• Strong knowledge of cam-driven machining and timing adjustments.
• Advanced troubleshooting and process optimization experience.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups and changeovers on Schutte multi-spindle machines.
• Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, timing, and process issues.
• Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling, cycle times, and overall machine efficiency.
• Support operators and setup technicians with hands-on technical guidance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
• Lead first-piece approvals and support quality initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts related to scrap reduction and machine uptime.
• Develop setup standards, tooling layouts, and process documentation.
• Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
• Support new product launches and process development initiatives.

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Massillon, Ohio to hire a Senior Schutte Technician / Technical Lead. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of $28–$32/hour based on experience and skill level. This role focuses on advanced multi-spindle machining, technical leadership, process optimization, and troubleshooting within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complete setups and changeovers on Schutte multi-spindle machines
• Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, timing, and process issues
• Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling, cycle times, and overall machine efficiency
• Support operators and setup technicians with hands‑on technical guidance
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications
• Lead first‑piece approvals and support quality initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement efforts related to scrap reduction and machine uptime
• Develop setup standards, tooling layouts, and process documentation
• Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability
• Support new product launches and process development initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience setting up Schutte or similar multi‑spindle screw machines
• Strong knowledge of cam‑driven machining and timing adjustments
• Advanced troubleshooting and process optimization experience
• Blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Experience:

• Technical Lead or Senior Setup Technician background
• Experience with quoting, cost estimating, or cycle time development
• ERP/MRP system experience
• PPAP, process validation, or new product launch support
• Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience
