Job summary

Aerotek in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills in a high-volume production environment. You will machine parts to blueprints and routings, perform in-process inspections, and adjust programs to maintain quality.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, basic CNC programming, and tool changes. It is a contract-to-hire position with shifts 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., in a large onsite plant with potential overtime and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines in a high-volume shop.
• Ability to set up machines and perform changeovers.
• Familiarity with GD&T and reading blueprints.
• Competence with in-process inspection and tool changes.
• Experience with G-code and basic CNC programming.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills to produce precision components.
• Machine parts according to blueprints, routings, and standard work procedures.
• Perform complete machine setups, including tooling setup and changeovers.
• Inspect machined parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other tools.
• Make basic CNC program adjustments to meet specs and improve efficiency.
• Perform tool changes and maintain tooling configuration during runs.
• Apply GD&T knowledge when reviewing programs and troubleshooting issues.
• Troubleshoot machining problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Follow safety, quality guidelines, and standard work in a busy shop.
