Job summary

Rocktech Systems in Chesterfield, MI seeks a skilled CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer for a full-time on-site role. You will set up, program, and run CNC lathes to produce precision components per engineering drawings, selecting tooling, adjusting settings, loading materials, and monitoring production runs.

You will perform routine inspections, document results, and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues while following safety and quality procedures on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a production environment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately.
• Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and recording inspections.
• Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code) and adjusting offsets for tight tolerances.
• Strong shop math skills and understanding of materials properties.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Effective communication and teamwork with engineers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts from drawings.
• Select tooling, adjust machine settings, and load materials for production runs.
• Perform routine inspections and document results; coordinate with engineering to resolve issues.
• Maintain and perform basic preventive maintenance on machines; ensure safety and quality standards.
