Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC lathe operator to set up, run, and maintain lathes producing precision plastic components in Phoenix, AZ. You will interpret drawings, apply GD&T, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining a safe workspace.

Responsibilities include selecting tools, measuring parts with precision tools, and documenting data. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and collaboration with engineering and production teams for process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lathe experience (CNC preferred; plastic machining a plus).
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Strong understanding of machining quality standards and shop safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to ~50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine plastic parts per drawings and work instructions.
• Select proper tools, feeds, and speeds for various plastics to optimize quality and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and GD&T.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
• Perform deburring, finishing, and basic machine maintenance.
• Adjust offsets, change tools, and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain quality.
• Document production and inspection data and report nonconformances.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes
