Job summary

Zygo Corporation, a division of AMETEK, seeks a skilled CMM Technician at our Richmond Extreme Precision Optics site. You will program and operate CMMs to measure high-precision glass components, using CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, and QUINDOS, and verify conformance to drawings and GD&T.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to meet schedules, develop fixturing concepts, and document results.

Qualifications

5 years of related industry experience.
4 years of CMM programming/operation (Brown & Sharpe, Leitz or Zeiss preferred).
GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
Strong ability to read 3D CAD models and drawings.
Solid math and measurement interpretation skills.
Experience using calipers, micrometers, profilometers, and optical comparators.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute CMM programming to measure components from drawings and models.
Program and operate multiple CMMs using CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, and QUINDOS.
Verify parts meet geometric tolerances per drawings and specs.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to meet delivery schedules.
Create and maintain formal inspection documents and results.
Develop fixturing concepts with the mechanical design team.
Assist sales with quoting and train others on equipment.
