Job summary

Zygo Corporation is seeking a Tech III (Metrology) to join our manufacturing team in Atlanta, GA. You will perform optical tests, calibrate equipment, set up configurations, and collaborate with engineering on new test methods.

We are seeking candidates with an associate degree and 5+ years in manufacturing, or a high school diploma with 8+ years; strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential. Teamwork and communication are valued; optics experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical field with 5 years of related experience, or a high school diploma and 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with simple troubleshooting of processes.
  • Optics and optical testing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Careful, well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Test optical surfaces using interferometer, CMM, AFM, and PMM.
  • Calibrate and ensure proper operation of equipment and tests.
  • Set up and break down test configurations.
  • Run software analysis on test data and interpret results as passing or failing.
  • Handle and clean optical components without downgrading the surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by following cleaning schedules and inventory control.
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on test equipment and tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering on developing testing methods for new products.

What you'll do
