Job summary

Hutchinson in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to support quality and manufacturing through dimensional inspections of components using Coordinate Measuring Machines and precision equipment. You will assist with PPAP submissions, prototype and production part evaluation, and capability studies.

The ideal candidate has GD&T, SPC exposure, and strong analytical and communication skills, with an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus two

Qualifications

• Two years of manufacturing quality or metrology experience.
• Experience with GD&T and SPC.
• Ability to prepare, measure, organize, record and report on projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication with suppliers on dimensional characteristics and trends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, organize, record and report on projects being measured.
• Assist in preparing PPAP for customer approval.
• Assist Engineering in evaluating prototype metals and molded parts.
• Communicate with suppliers on dimensional characteristics showing instability trends.
• Support tool room measurements of molds or cavities that were reworked or modified.
• Support production with ongoing capability studies on current parts.
• Measure and prepare reports on new samples from suppliers.
• Other duties as assigned.
