Job summary

Hutchinson Autopartes de Mexico SA.DE CV is seeking an industrious engineer technician to support metrology tasks, PPAP preparation, and evaluation of prototype parts. You will interact with Product Engineering, measurement labs, and suppliers to ensure dimensional accuracy and process capability.

The role requires an Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology and 2 years related experience, with strong knowledge of tolerance analysis and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology and two years related experience in theory and application of complex layout and/or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong understanding of geometric tolerances, SPC, SAE handbook usage, gage control programs, and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, organize, record and report on projects being measured.
• Assist in preparing PPAP for customer approval.
• Assist Product Engineering in evaluating prototype metals and molded parts.
• Communicate with suppliers on dimensional characteristics showing instability trends.
• Support tool room on measurements of all molds or cavities that have been reworked or modified.
• Support production by measuring and preparing ongoing capability studies on current production parts.
• Measure and prepare written reports on all new samples from suppliers.
• Other duties as assigned.
